What is the over all better rifle? HK 416 22LR vs Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 22LR?

Six of one, half a dozen the other.

Both are .22LR rifles based, for better or for worse, on an AR-type platform. As long as you clean them properly you'll be fine.

Of course, for the price, I'd much rather have the S&W. Around $300 versus closer to $500-$600? For the price difference, I could buy another gun.

i love the M&P but the trigger pull is a bit heavy and the factory open sights SUCK but a red dot scope and a 2 lb. trigger ($46) and i would not give it up for anything but i have not shot the HK
