can i upgrade a celeron 420 , if so what is the best I can do ?

Board is EMCP73VT-PM.

What processor can i upgrade to ?

BIOS is RO1-A3

    Here's a list of all the CPUs that are compatible with your eMachines EMCP73VT-PM motherboard, my friend.

    It states that you can upgrade to an Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q9505s (R0) 2.83 GHz (6MB, 1333 MHz, LGA775) processor.

    You could install pretty much any socket 775 processor, such as the Intel Pentium E5700 or something else.

    Core 2 Quad Q9650 seems to be the best one in the series to upgrade to. Should be pretty decent price too this far along from production.
