hi. this is just my point of view, i have received disability living allowance (DLA) and income support for 16 years because of disability. employment support allowance (ESA) is the new benefit for people who are out of work due to illness or disability. i can see them only taking your arthritis and related mobility problem into account.

ESA medicals, which are carried out by private company ATOS, are very difficult to pass and it's possible you may not get enough points to receive the benefit. if you did pass you would most likely be put in the work related activity group (WRAG) where they help you find work you are physically able to do. the support group is for the small minority of applicants who are not fit for any form of work at this current time

to make a claim for ESA by telephone Jobcentre Plus. Their telephone number is: 0800 055 6688

or download a claim form here http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/Be...

DLA is a non means tested benefit and can be claimed even if you are in work or have savings. this has also become a lot tougher to get. i can see them maybe awarding you the lower rate mobility component but i am not sure about the care component. to make a claim have a look at http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/disabledpeople/financi...

Having your uterus removed does NOT make you disabled. Many people can live and function perfectly fine with one kidney. It would depend on if you need treatment or not. There are many sit-down jobs you can do. Even at home. If you are going to be at home, on a computer to write this, than you can get a job with a computer
