Why do some airplanes have positive dihedral in the horizontal stab.? I see it on both prop planes and jets.?

    It has the effect of a little more lateral area aft of the CG. There is negative lift on a stabilizer. Dihedral will reduce the loss due to a span wise flow of air spilling over the tips. It's the designer/engineers personal choice usually.The improvement is usually negligible. It's kind of like winglets. They look cool and sell airplanes!
