Why would someone do this?

Someone reported my answer from about two months ago.. From what I just recently found out, it's an illegal question that I answered and anything I answer is valid to be reported but it was two months ago. Is it possible to appeal the report since someone did it for nothing?

Keep in mind that any post on Answers is visible for all time, so it doesn't really matter how long ago it was for it to be reported if it is a violation. The report was not for nothing, it removed a rule-breaking answer by your own admission.

They aren't going to reverse it on appeal. First off you're guilty of the violation. Secondly if they reverse it then that would mean whoever reported you would be considered wrong and then that person would lose trust level and reporting influence with Answers, and they aren't going to do that to somebody who reported a valid violation.

I got a violation from 2 years before! I contacted YA & pointed out that they had suspended that account 2 years before.Without asking they reactivated that account.I now have two accounts & they have no-one to blame but themselves, lol. I don't interact the accounts, not that stupid.
