Why is Romney hiding his plans?

Last Sunday Romney hosted a private (no media) $50,000 per person fundraiser where he told his riches contributors that when elected he would eliminate the department of housing and urban development and the department of education (or at least cut funding dramatically). Why wouldn't he go public with this? I assume he knows that he would lose the majority of middle class and all lower class homeowners votes. Then he would lose votes from the educational side.

Update:

To the people that want sources, really? This has been on the news all week. I made the first link from foxnews since certain people seem to accept news from them like its gospel. also i am not saying the idea is good or bad, i just wish he would make it public.

LOL. No one answers your question, just doesn't believe you. Here, I'll help you with the link:

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/04/16/us-usa-c...

He also said he'd eliminate the mortgage tax deduction.

His aides said he was just "throwing out ideas" when he said he would combine or eliminate many government departments, agencies and tax credits to help offset his proposal to slash all U.S. tax rates by 20 percent.

Apparently he only shares those ideas with his high donors.

Maybe he took lesson`s from Nancy Pelosi and her democrats back in 2006 when she said if elected she and the democrats had a common sense plan to lower the price of gas ?? Nancy Pelosi on the Price of Gas in Her Own Words... June 27, 2008

Here’s a quote from San Fran Nan on the issue of high gas prices back in the summer of 2006:

Pelosi : “" With skyrocketing gas prices, it is clear that the American people can no longer afford the Republican rubber-stamp Congress and its failure to stand up to the Republican big oil and gas company cronies…. Democrats have a common-sense plan to bring down skyrocketing gas prices by cracking down on price gouging, rolling back the billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, tax breaks and royalty relief given to big oil and gas companies, and increasing production of alternative fuels.”"

That was when gas was at $2.91 a gallon. Well, gas is currently at $4.08 just 18 months into the Democrat control of Congress in 2008 . There are many reasons why gas is high, the price of oil being one reason, but in the world of American politics, one takes credit when times are good, but also gets blamed when times are bad.

So, where are the Republicans hammering the Dem's on this broken campaign pledge? Not only do Republicans have a definite edge on the drilling solution, but using the Dem's own words against them would help to unify the RNC’s voice nationally on this issue: “Can we afford another Democrat Congress?” and so forth. The liberal bias` press isn’t going to call the Dem's out on this issue so we have to do it — this is finally an issue that the Republicans poll better than Dem's this year !

Source(s): Well it`s now 2012 and gas is pushing $5.00 a gallon , so just when do you think Pelosi will bring her plan out of hiding that she claimed would lower the price of gas ?? When ?

The US Federal Department of Education is far from an improvement to this country. Education is best handled at the state and local levels, as it was handled before 1979.

The Department of Education has given us No Child Left Behind, massive unfunded mandates, indoctrination, and in some cases, forced medication of our children with psychotropic drugs.

People at the department of education don't do anything.

And I live next door of Department of housing and urban development, workers there don't do anything either. There is no money from the state to help people find cheap housing, so

why need Department of Education and Department of housing and urban development... ?

    We need to save money.

Because they will bury him. Personally If the powers that be are still in play. Hes dead already. He should concede to the President. Hes a paranoid Pisces. If something super natural were to happen and he won. That's gonna be the coldest thing Ive ever seen In my life. If he won. He had helps. And It wasn't from God. God does not accept Visa.

I suppose the same reason Obama would tell Medvedev that he'll "have a lot more flexibility after the election". Romney is speaking of domestic policy while Obama is talking about making "side deals" with foreign nationals.

I'll take Romney's stand on those issues long before I would accept that Obama is talking about anything that would strengthen our country.

He's not. You're stretching for half-baked complaints and trying to rationalize why you still support Obama.
