What to do if Wells fargo do not refund my money?
Someone Stole 1,000 out of my Wells fargo checking account. When i called to file the fraud claim i told the guy i lost my id months ago but how can someone still manage to get money out of my account. The bank do not want to give me my money back because they said my I.D was used and the signature match. I asked them to review the tapes because it was impossible for it to be me but they said they they will no investigate any further and will not refund my money what can I do? I have proof showing i was in a whole diffrent state at the time the money was withdrawn
Im still trying to figure out how they managed to get the money out....i think it was someone close to me that done this but the bank does not want to further investigate it because my i.d was used so they said they have no clue it was not me who took it out

You had up to 60 days to file so the bank is not responsible for the loss.

Your ID was stolen... but how did they know your bank and especially your bank account number??

Your problem is that you waited a month before you reported to the bank that you lost your wallet and check card or checks, etc. that would have allowed a thief access to your account. All that was in the wallet too, wasn't it?
You have the responsibility to immediately inform the bank when you lose instruments that give strangers access to your account. It wasn't the I.D. that made it possible to withdraw money... but there was a debit card in that wallet, a check or even both, check card and PIN, and that is what you didn't report lost until a month later when somebody used it to take money out of your account. So... that is your fault and the bank does not have to refund your money.
