If a question is deleted on Y!A, does that mean that all of the responses are reported for violations too?
I had answered a question but found out later that it had been reported by the community. My answer was not in any way offensive or against the community guidelines. When I checked to see the actual question to see if maybe someone else had commented saying that they were offended by by answer, I found that the question itself had been deleted.
I want to know if I was reported because the question was reported or if maybe someone else answering just wanted to report everyone and get the question removed. Maybe it was even the asker just reporting everyone for some reason. I tried to search for the process behind reporting things on Yahoo! and how they would be verified, but I found nothing relevant. This is actually the second time that this situation has happened to me. If anyone knows how this stuff works, please tell me! Thanks a bunch!
The question, I think was just "knock knock!" and the details told you to finish the joke. I responded with "Oh my God!! There is someone trapped inside my computer trying to break out!! Wait, sir! I will free you!! ... How did you end up inside in the first place?". My answer was not the only one to not be the end of a knock knock joke. It was not the only to sound like this. There were other comments that had offensive language in them too. I don't know if they were reported as well though.
The first time this happened I think the question had something to do with giving stars for the question and I responded with "Okay, but why?". I was not the only person to respond like that. Others had used the exact same words. And again, others were being extremely rude with their answers. I had seen a question like this once before and that one was not reported, so why just this one? I know that it's not a proper question and they shouldn't have asked

No. Each posting is reported individually, not as a group report. However, an answer that is a violation CAN be reported on a question that is a violation and be removed before or simultaneously with the question being removed.
Since you do not post WHAT you answered, we can't let you know WHY it might have been perceived as a violation, though.
EDIT: The 2nd example was a "not an answer" violation. Every answer must attempt to give an valid answer to the question being asked, even if the question is a violation. The first one is another issue - technically, you were NOT in violation, since a question in J&R CAN ask for a punchline and an answer can give one. But other users may see this type of question & answer as chatting - and report BOTH (or all) of them. Yours got enough reports of abuse to be taken down; others simply may not have.
The SOLUTION to this? When you see a question that is obviously a violation - DO NOT answer it. Either report it or simply move on to another VALID question.

No! The answers are not automatically reported. They could be reported if other Y!A users happen to see that it was a violation, but it's not automatic with the question is reported and deleted. Keep in mind that an answer doesn't have to be offensive in ANY way for it to be a violation. It's also not likely that someone just wanted to report everyone.
We'd need to know the exact question and you complete answer in order to say what the violation might have been.. if any. That information should have been in the email violation notice you received. Be careful answering questions that are violations though. It's not unusual, when a question is a violation, for answers to be violations. It's very risky to answer those questions. It's best not to answer at all, and just pass those questions by.

Much depends on the sequence of events. For example there may be a question that states "say anything for 5 points" and someone answers "anything". I can report the answer first and then the question and both would be removed for violations. If I report the question first then the entire question and answer would be removed but the answer would not get a violation.

a number of your questions do are available in the time of as in case you're only trolling. the only time I checklist is that if a query is abusive or is an obtrusive rant devoid of question in place. for people who think of Atheists consistently checklist Christian posts, maybe you may reword your questions so as that they don't seem to be so offensive. In concept, real Christians should not be behaving in an offensive way besides.
