Your thoughts please on taxes?

Let's just pretend the tax code was exactly where you want it. Meaning people at your income level paid the amount you think should be paid. Same goes for those making more and less. If you did have to pay in a certain amount, but you got to allocate a certain percentage of your taxes to go to programs you decide. Would you like that anymore than how we got it now? What percent would you be comfortable with allocating?

I've been thinking about this for quite some time -- that, when you file taxes, there's an additional form, where you allocate what percent of your taxes go where.

It would be a form of direct democracy.

It would be interesting to see what that would look like, wouldn't it?

I'm happy with the amount I pay now.

I earn around £8000 a year tax free, then I am taxed at 20% on everything I earn after that.

I agree with the tax laws in the UK, although some loopholes need to be closed as there are millionaires who pay close to 0% tax.

I think it's only fair and civilised to pay back into my country. I want to use roads, police, schools etc. I should pay for them.

Even though I don't have children I think I should pay for schools because I don't want to grow old in a country full of ignorant young people.

I don't really like the benefit system, but I accept that it's better to have a slightly flawed system than none at all.
