PROM HELP!! Omg please help me! :/?

Okay so I'm going to prom with my guy friend to his school where I don't go and I don't know ANYONE but him that goes there! I'm sooooo worried about being like all awkward and not really knowing what to do and stuff and when I take pics my friends aren't ganna be there. Should I get a long dress? I really want one but idk if thats in! I've never been to a prom, dance or ANYTHING like this so I have NO IDEA what the heck to do or get ready for. Any ideas on how to get ready and suggestions you have on how not to be all awkward and fit in. Oh and like dancing? I've never danced with a guy. omg i'm so screwed. haha HELP PLEASE! :(

If your friend asked you to go, I am sure he plans on spending the whole time with you! If not, I'm sure you will be able to make some friends there. Ask him if you can bring another friend and if she can bring a date. If not, just always be outgoing! If you're awkward, don't worry about it! Some guys think its cute. Most dancing isn't formal or professional. If you aren't a couple, I doubt you will dance when the slow songs come on. Just remember to have fun and be yourself!

I would definitely suggest a long dress for a formal prom! However, if you want to be more casual, short may be the way to go. Try borrowing a dress from a friend, but if you decide to buy one, check online before purchasing in store. You can find many discounted dresses on websites such as UniqueVintage.com and SeasonMall.com and they can be quite beautiful. Here are some suggestions!

If you're that uncomfortable then you dont have to take photos, you can take pictures of him and yourself before you go to prom, this will save other people from causing distractions with your pictures.

Your guy friend is probably just as nervous as you are, its prom afterall.

I wouldn't recommend getting a long dress, knee-length would be better. Long dresses are very nice yes, however its easier to trip or get it caught on something (like the back of your heel) It;s all good with knee-length lol.

To get ready keep it fancy yet conservative. Have your dress of your choice and pair it with an accessory or two. Maybe a set of larger earrings and a nice bracelet? Something like this. Then have your hair curled or straightened, maybe pin it back or style it to the side so it gives you a delicate off-the-shoulder look?

There are many options here, but just be sure that you're comfortable with whatever you decide to wear :)

Heels are good too, but be sure they arent too high and you can walk in them easily. When dancing, take his lead he will be there to show you the moves just move the same way he is lol it won't be awkward at all.

    Good luck, and enjoy!

if its not your prom, feel free to wear a short dress if youd like. It can be less expansive, and plenty of people wear short dresses to prom now a days. If you want a long dress, get one. I went to someone elses prom and my own, its your chance to really make this guy look good, his friends from school are going to want to meet you so just look your best. and you dont even have to leave your house. Youtube has some very amazing easy makeup tutorials, and hair tutorials. be yourself, if you like dancing, you'll have fun. and if you dont want to be yourself, nobody knows you anyway. just invent yourself for the night. its all about looking good and having fun. no worries, prom isnt really a huge thing anyway, hollywood really has made it feel like a big deal, and in a way it is, just because its one of the last times you see your friends before you graduate, but other than that, its just another school dance. no worries!

    Hey girl! :D

Ok. So if your a bubbly outgoing person, make new friends! That'd be so cool. I know my dad met a lot of people at that time in his life and he still knows them. It's so amazing how friendships can last that long. So yeah..just say hi to people, get to know them and have a fun time. Even if your shy, rely on your guy friend to help you out. If he's talking to someone, talk to them too. Ya know? :D

As for dancing, trust me, its a lot easier than you think! I went to a Christmas dance party last year and was SO nervous. But in all reality, people don't have a certain way of dancing. Dance how YOU dance. Nobody is gonna dance the same way, unless it's a slow dance. Then you just put your arms around the guy and sway. Does that make sense? :D

You'll be amazing..your really nice too so people will <3 you! :D

    Good luck my friend!

    Cheers,

    Katrina

Hahaha don't worry! I wish I had prom in my school... I'm class of 2012 too but can't go to prom :(

If you feel confortable with a long dress then wear it but make sure how girls will dress that day. I'm telling you this because in new year's of 2009-2010 I dressed with a long dress in the party we were going and all girls were with short dresses looking super cute and I was feeling super awkward haha but I had fun and that's what matters... Hope you enjoy your prom!

Well I'm sure that if he is your friend he will try and make it as comfortable as possible just be yourself and have fun . As for the dress u can go as long or short as u want . There will be plenty of girls there with a wide range of dresses . Also don't be afraid of the dancing cause I can guaruntee your date is stressing about the same thing . Guys are worse dancers than girls lol . Have fun ;)

awh, calm down. prom can be nerve racking and exciting. first off, dance as much or as little as you want. just don't ignore your date. ( i doubt you'll do that anyway.) second, wear whatever dress that make you feel gorgeous and comfortable. if you like the way it looks on you then go for it. even if it's too long. ( you can wear heels, you know. ahah) third, its whatever dress you want. go try some dresses you want. don't settle for any dress. settle for the dress that you love. not sure about the dress? ask them to hold it, then go back tomorrow and try it on again. maybe try going with the theme if there is on. hope you have a blast at prom. oh that flower thing is called a boutonniere. you don't have to get him one. but they're pretty cheap.

Don't be scared! I'm going to my boyfriends prom and girls don't know me and they don't like me -___-. Well wear a long dress Ofcourse :), try on a few and choose one that will compliment your shape. As for dancing if you wear a long dress you won't be able to tell if you look funny because your dress will cover your legs :)! Just dance as friends, freaking is not necessary. Just be kind and have fun :), hope I helped. And long dresses are in its prom.

Wear a short dress, but not to short. Long dresses are nice and pretty too, but I wore short on my prom so that's why. And high heels. Just relax, it will all come to you naturally, you won't be ashamed. Just laugh and no one will know you're feeling bad. Smile is the best thing to do, don't think how you're going to look awkward, and you won't. Maybe to yourself, not the others!
