Can someone solve the equation logsub3(x+3)+logsub3(x+1)=1?

logsub3(x+3)+logsub3(x+1)=1

I keep ending up with x^2+4x=0 and don't know what to do from there, please help!

    log(x+3)(x+1) = log(3)

    (x+3)(x+1) = 3

    x^2 + 4x + 3 = 3

    x^2 + 4x = 0

    x(x+4) = 0

    x = 0

    x = -4 (this is not a good answer because you'd be taking log of negative numbers)

    x = 0

    logsub3(x+3)(x+1)=1

    3^1=(x+3)(x+1)

    3=x^2+4x+3

    x^2+4x=0

    x(x+4)=0

    roots=0 and -4
