how much topsoil/compost would i need to cover an area 40'x 25'x1' deep?

I am looking to amend my soil for a vegetable garden. My garden area is 40'x25' and would like to amend the soil to 1' depth. I would like to do a mix of compost and topsoil as these are the things I can get trucked in. Just need to know how many tons I need to buy of each.

Update:

where i can buy it from it comes in tons not cubic yards

It is sold in cubic yards: so multiply 40 x25 = 1,000 square feet. To get to cubic yards you need to first get to cubic feet (volume you divide by 12 since you are using just 1/12 of a foot = 83.3 cubic feet. Now there are 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard (3 x 3 x 3).......so 83.3 divided by 27 = 3 cubic yards.

90x90 8100 sq. inches. Dividing by ability of a hundred and forty four is fifty six a million/4 sq. feet or 5.22 sq. metres. fifty two squarem? yet 25 (i.e. 5x 5) a million metre tiles would be in basic terms 25 sq. metres. look, each and each tile is a foot and a a million/2 in length/width so it is a million.5 x a million.5 squarefeet = 2.25 squarefeet So 25 of them is fifty six.25 squarefeet. with none left over!
