child support and social security in washington state?
my ex husband was found disabled by a judge a little over a month ago. i was contacted by social security and given back pay for the kids for the time he was found disabled. he was also awarded a lump sum of his own for the 2.5 years he was approved to be disabled. his letter told him half of that money was going to his back child support and that was about 3 weeks ago. how long does it take to see that money on my side as a payment towards the arrears?

Have no idea because social security won't be paying that directly to you but to the court which handles the child support and the court will be paying you. Why don't you call the court to see if they've received the money from Social Security yet and find out how long it will take them to process it to you?

HE should appeal that as the arrears are a result of the disability. The about he owes is what you get from SSDI.
