Need help receiving parcels...?
Hi all, thanks for reading.
I'm a single guy, recently moved into my own place, working the usual 9-5.30 on the weekdays.
I was just wondering, what should I do about missing parcels? With Royal Mail, its usually possible to redeliver on a Saturday but I checked with DHL and they only work 'office hours' (lazy bums :P )
I tend to receive parcels with computer parts in them (personal projects..) that often need to be signed for. Would you folks have any suggestions? Some sort of external PO Box? Mail forwarding? Slave? :P
Thanks folks!

you need to contact the company you should be recieving the items from.
if the product is coming from abroad; its usually parcel force you contact.
if the product is from a company e.g. comet; tescos etc; contact them instead incase they havent delivered the things etc.
if you are recieving the parcel from someone in the UK then
there are many delivery companies:
royal mail
dhl
tnt
dpd
these are the main ones; usually when you contact them; you need to give them your tracking number (if you have one). there are others aswell just to let you know.
btw with regards to recieving the parcel; you can recieve them almost anyday any time betwen 8am-6pm and you can recieve parcels on the weekend usually aswell depending on what type of delivery you paid/asked for.

Honestly if it was not a joke, then the Post Office employees or ''imployees' took something out of it. I use the post office RARELY anymore as they have proven in this last h=year to FIVE times get into my mail. I use UPS or FedEx OR ID I have to use them it is highly insured. Trust them? No way. They hate their jobs...and only who comes second are the thieving baggage handlers...I am SERIOUS.....who Pass out at the end of the day their take from the bins, including lotions and expensive ones at that & other things that have been taken from passengers. Sucks doesn't it? I would go down....and file a complaint...to what end it will help I don't know, but know this...you're definitely NOT alone! Blue

When you order the item, if on line - see if there is the facility to have an alternative delivery address, if so, you can get it delivered to work or to someone you can trust. If you order via the telephone, ask them if they will deliver to a different address. I realise that I live in Ireland, but if a courier rings me to say they have a parcel, I get them to deliver to my place of work if that is more convenient for me. One courier company automatically deliver a parcel to my wifes work address - they do not bother contacting me now!

Its always a problem for me too - I have got a neighbour on my street who is home most of the time who will take in my parcels
I put a note on my door to say 'please leave parcel at number 21' and they usually do
So maybe try and find someone who looks trustworthy to ask? Mine is an old lady so she is happy to take the parcel in and have a chat in return when i go to collect it :0)
