A contractor agreed to finish a project in 50 days.He employed 120 men who worked 9 hours in a day. After 20 days, he found that only 1/3 of the project was completed. How many more men should he employ to finish the work on time if each man now worked 10 hours a day?

He will have to employ 144 men.
work hours days men
1/3 9 20 120
2/3 10 30 x
(2/3) * 9 * 20 * 120
x = ----------------------------- = 144
(1/3) * 10 * 30
So he has to employ 144 - 120 = 24 more men
