Aren't we supposed to be able to ask and answer an unlimited number of questions at Level 5?

I'm level 5, but YA has set limits for me. Now it says your daily share of answering questions is finished, please come back tomorrow. Also, it has reduced the number of questions I can ask to 20 per day. It wasn't like that before. Have they changed their laws?

    It changed 2 weeks ago.

There is 2 reasons it changed.

    1) it is an initial measure to combat spam and other abuse.

Spam is consuming too much of Yahoo's resources.

    2) it is designed to make a reduction in the 11 million questions with tied votes in the "In Voting" system.

Some questions have been in limbo for 4 years.

Another million is added every 6 months or so.

So now there is an increase in the allowance for voting.

For level 7 it is 400 per day.

The reasoning is that people can get extra points by voting for "In Voting" questions. Because fter they have used their allocation for Answering, they can still get points by Voting.

I expect both the Answering limits and the Voting limits to be tweaked again in the coming weeks.

Perhaps we will get 2 points for voting (on a temporary basis).

They changed the rules. And limits also apply to levels above. Read about the new set-up on the home page.

Some of the higher level players may have been abusing the privilege a little.

Yeah, they changed to rule to stop trolls (which solves nothing because the trolls just make new accounts, like they've always done).
