You might have already read them, or thought of them, but the Harry Potter books are just amazing. I'm a massive Hunger Games and Harry Potter fan!! They seem like a lot of work to read at first but they really suck you in, it's so worth it.

If Harry Potter is a no-no, try this series : http://www.the-enemy.co.uk/Home/

They're pretty similar to the Hunger Games - they're set in a zombie apocalypse, where all adults became zombies and only kids under the age of 14 lived. It definitely has that sort of survival theme to it - not to mention big helpings of gore :) The Enemy is the first in the series.

    Hope I've helped :)

Divergent by Veronica Roth. It is about a world where when you are 16 you have to chose which feaction (group) within society you want to live in. Each of them value a different personality trait and you live with your faction for the rest of your life, sometimes away from your family. Its going to be a series and the 2nd one comes out in a few days time. (I'm ridiculously excited)!

The Young Samurai trilogy is a good series if you are into Samurais, Ninjas and Japan
