Has anyone ever had to bottle feed their baby goats?
I am taking in two orphaned Nubian goats. They are twins, were born last Saturday, and their mom died the day after they were born. They were going to be sent to meat because the owner didn't want to care for them so I am taking them in. I don't have a nanny goat to be a surrogate so I have to bottle feed. What type of formula should I use and what kinds of places can I get it from? Thank you!
(Please only answer if you have EXPERIENCE. I don't want any speculations or predictions on what will work when you have never tried a formula and don't know the consequences of using it. Remember, two lives are depending on a safe, nutritional formula!)

You will need to find a livestock supply store and purchase actual goat kid milk replacer. Grobers kid gro is what I use
Other people may recommend giving cows milk mixed with corn or karo syrup
There is really no substitute for actual goat milk from the mom, but you sometimes have to work with what you've got. You can ask around to any local goat dairies to see if they can sell or give you some goat milk too. Check with the farmer you are getting these kids from and make sure the kids were given some sort of colostrum.
There are some problems that can arise with any kid goats that you should research so that you can recognize them if they happen. The most common are floppy kid syndrome, entertainment(Enterotoxemia, damn you autocorrect! lol), etc.
I like Fiasco Farms website. I usually find excellent info there.
