How old is the average infant when they start getting teeth?

I've been asked and I don't remember

    Every baby is different, therefore, there is NOT average age for this.

    I raised 3 children and the oldest teethed at 3-monhts and the other two a bit later.

    Average is between 5-6 months.

    My first son got his first tooth at 6 months 3 weeks. My second got his first tooth the day after he turned 6 months. My niece got hers around 8 1/2 months. From other people I know, I'm going to say the average first tooth is around 6-9 months.

    my son just turned nine months and has 4 teeth. every baby is different.
