Is not one's thought a mirror of one's mind?

Update:

What I mean is "Cannot one be judged by what and how he thinks?"

    Yes!!

Because thoughts lead to actions. I don't what to quote the Bible especially on this cite, but Jesus said (in my own words) "To think the crime is to do the crime."

We conceive of what to do after we have begun to think thoughts that will lead us to actions. It is one of the reasons I mistrust intellect so very much. The grotesque group murders of the last century were impossible without divorcing feelings from thoughts. Without being able to conceive of what pain and suffering caused by a mind activity that I call cruelty, all sorts of horrors can result.

To me it is an axiom that we are what we think. We are modified and enhanced by what we feel if it is noble and generous. I suppose that requires noble and generous thoughts.

No. I don't think so. I believe your "mind" is always present, and therefore not needing a mirror. Thoughts aren't mirrors, but rather something the mind creates. I think the mystery behind thinking and doing is understanding motivation. No one does anything for one reason and I highly doubt we ever can understand every one.

Nice thought but what does it mean? Obviously the way you are using "mirror" and "mind" here are as metaphors. Are two metaphors ever equal? I don't think so.

Your post illustrates that we can fall in love with flowerly ways of talking that are vapid and meaningless. When we do that we confuse form for substance.
