Question about moving your car from one city to another (when travelling by plane)?

Imagine that you are moving from one part of the country to the other, and you are travelling to your new city by plane. You have a car (just a regular car, nothing big like a truck or an RV) that’s still in good working condition, but you don’t wish to leave it behind or sell it, or get a new one when you’re settled into your new city. What do you do? Would it be feasible to let the airport staff know about your car that you left in the parking lot, and request that they get it there? If so, would it be possible to put the car on a cargo plane, or would they have to connect with a vehicle hauling service?

An airline will NOT be responsible for moving your car to another city. You would have to make other arrangements prior to leaving your current home. There are companies that specialize in moving automobiles across country, but those are expensive. Probably much cheaper to have a friend, family member, or perhaps a money hungry college student, drive your car to its new destination. You would, of course, be expected to pay for this service, and you'd likely be expected to provide their return passage home by either plane, train, or bus.

Pretty much everybody just drives their car. A service would cost a fortune.
