Which puts more weight burden on the back? Bicycling or running?

For someone with a sore back due to playing basketball, which would cause the least stress on the back? Please explain using physics. Thank you all in advance.

Running. Cycling, your upper body stays still, and the weight and therefore force, is constant.

When running, your body goes up and down, adding momentum into the mix. When coming down, the burder will have momentum and therefore will have a greater force. Then, coming back up, your body has to push against the weight, making a greater force again. Although not constant, the raise in weight at these points will put more weight, and therefore strain upon the persons back.
