I would take your dream to mean this: The little girl you are protecting is you, however she represents who you are or how you perceive yourself in your current situation, and in your dream you represent who you know you can be. The man at the bottom of the stairs represents an evil being either the devil himself or a person that is being used by the devil to cause troubled times to befall you. The being that is with you is the Holy Spirit keeping you safe and guiding you through your time of trouble. You will be fine, but you are going to endure a tough test, get prepared. You are strong enough to endure and that is why you are protective of the little girl, this tough time will prove to you once and for all that you are bigger and stronger than you ever thought.

that's so cool . but its normal to have dreams of people that have passed , its like a way to easily connect to you . but i would just look at it as a gift you've got .
