Civ Rev. How are great people allocated?

Is allocation of great people based on how you set up your civ?

ie do you get great scientists if your cities are set to science? Do you get great leaders if you've produced lots of units? Is it more specific or entirely random?

Any information appreciated.

A more specific question is "how do I attract great explorers/industrialists?"

You usually have a limit (Let's say 100) for a specific thing such as production, culture, wealth and science. If your city produces 100 culture then a great culture person will appear. Your limit will go up (Let's say 500, i do not know the actual levels) If you produce more science than culture you will get a great science person. These limits will get higher and higher and you will mostly get great people in the modern era.

it is random, just earn a lot of culture and you will earn a great person.

Then, it will give them to a specific city as you probably will all ready know.

It gives you them randomly though, to the best of my knowledge.
