  • Bluestacks - How do you stop the options at the bottom overlaying the app?

So the option bar down the bottom of the screen (home/full screen/share etc) lies over the actual app. It makes it difficult to play games because instead of hitting the game (ie selecting troops in Clash of Clans) I'm hitting the options menu.

Im sure before, the app size was different so the bottom of the game was above the options, how do i get that back?

    Can anyone help me out?

  • 1939 1945 star medal ribbon?

    Hi,

My father has been trying to research various family medals from the Second World War.

We have found two 1939-1945 Star medals. Both of which seem to have the ribbon colours in reverse order. Ie the ribbons run from left as seen - pale blue/red/navy when all official sources suggest the ribbon colours should run navy/red/pale blue.

We are now wondering if there was some significance as having both in the wrong order seems to be too strange to be coincidence.

As far as we know the recipients never met.

Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Old Book Search - The Hero of Crampton School?

I'm searching for a book for my Grandma, she remembered the title as being 'The Hero of Crampton School', I cannot find it online, can anyone shed some light on what this might be? Is there anything similar in name, perhaps I have misspelt it?

Any information about where I might find a copy would also be very much appreciated, thanks!

The only clues I can give you are that it is likely to be an English book, probably published before 1950, but possibly much older.

Really any information would be helpful.

  • Very low rpm high torque motor for catapault.?

    Hi

    I know nothing about motors.

I need a motor I can mount vertically that will give 2-4 rpm, the torque must be high enough to counter the elastic force of some thick surgical tubing. I am looking for the most simple way to achieve this, so no complicated multi unit solutions please.

Im guessing if it was horizontally mounted and the shaft was acting like a winch it would have to be able to lift around 10kg.

I realize that because the tension increases as the elastic stretches that there is some play in the numbers, but an excess of torque wold be preferable to a shortfall.

Anybody know any motors that would work?

PS- Mains current or 12v car battery are both preferred power supplies.

    Anyone have any advice?

    (Dont say reboot please!)

  • PS3 Kem 450AAA disc drive mistake (slim)?

Hi I have a 250gb Slim (cech-2003b) I removed the drive with a disk still in it, and now its back together the drive won't pull a disk back in or eject it if I manually insert the disc. Either the motor or the sensor has a problem? How do you reset the drive? There are videos for the 400 model drive on youtube but not the newer 450. Do the internal arms need to be set/cocked somehow?

Don't bother pointing out how stupid it was not to eject the disc first, I have that well covered.

  • ps3 slim bluray disc drive repair problem.?

I recently had disc read errors and after trying simpler methods ended up taking the drive itself apart to clean the lenses. It is back together now but the motor does not engage so the PS3 will not accept any new disc ie will not 'pull' disc into the slot.

The motor was fine when I took it apart, I've checked all the wires, taken it apart again, put it back together etc. What am I missing? Do the internal parts need to be in a certain position in order for the unit to set itself again?

This is about the disc drive only the PS3 itself is fine.

Any advice, answers etc much appreciated.

  • Civ Rev. How are great people allocated?

Is allocation of great people based on how you set up your civ?

ie do you get great scientists if your cities are set to science? Do you get great leaders if you've produced lots of units? Is it more specific or entirely random?

    Any information appreciated.

A more specific question is "how do I attract great explorers/industrialists?"

  • Can you remove location info from Google?

Hi. I'm having trouble removing the auto-detected location from the left side of google search.

I have tried turning off the geo:locate through mozilla firefox as well as revoking permission for them to supply that information to google.

It is not possible to amend the location to 'Earth' or '-'

I can alter the location to my country but only with cookies turned on, as soon as I wipe my history or turn the cookies off it switches back to the original location,

This happens whether I am signed into igoogle/gmail etc.

Does anyone know if it is possible to disable this feature?

  • Possible Minor Skyrim Glitch Cure?

Hi, my game was freezing every 20 mins or so and was unplayable.

I deleted EVERYTHING to do with Skyrim except one 'hard save' (ie not an autosave)

I deleted all the other save games, and also the game data/options and the upoaded update file.

    Then I reinstalled the game.

It played much better for one session, also it reset all the weapon rack problems I had at my house and put a few other glitches back the way they should be.

The next day it was worse but it did take longer to freeze than before (an hour or two). So not a perfect cure but a big improvement!

So I guess my question is, does this work for anyone else and does anyone have any other cures they may have found?

  • What's the problem at Bethesda?

Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout; New Vegas and now Skyrim were plagued with glitches, bugs etc

Does anyone know what the problem is down there?

Can the programmers not cope with the demands of the designers?

Do they not do enough product testing?

If anyone can shed any light on the 'Bethesda Problem' please lay it out here.

  • Good alternative to WMP?

Can anyone recommend a good alternative to the increasingly infuriating Windows Media Player?

My music files are are very messy so I need one that will let me edit the artist/album/genre etc

If it syncs to Sony MP3 (NWZ-E464) then even better!

Ideally I am looking for a freeware option.

So does anyone know of a good media player?

  • Can you turn off the thrall spells (Master Conjuration) in Skyrim?

The master level conjuration spells allow you to summon or raise thralls permanently. I use stealth a lot and don't want to constantly have a follower that alerts the enemy to my presence.

Once a permanent spell is cast, is there a way to turn it off again?

If you kill them, they respawn...

  • Who makes a good rucksack/backpack?

I was going to replace my old Berghaus rucksack with a new one but read some reviews saying that Berghaus quality has really dropped recently.

I had a Berghaus Dart 25 and would like something similar.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I want 20-30l capacity but would also like to know what brands are considered to be of high quality.

    Thanks!

  • Theists! What is your understanding of evolution?

Whether you believe it or not. What do you know and understand of the principles of the theory of evolution by natural selection? Theoretically, how is it supposed to work?

I ask as there seems to be much confusion.

  • UK Police caution. Do they remain on record for ever?

I received a police caution back in 2007. I have recently enquired both with a local police officer on his beat and also at the borough police headquarters. Both informed me that they did not know if cautions were ever taken off your record.

So, do they ever expire? If so how long do they remain on your record?

Also if they do expire and you re-offend are you then treated as a first time offender?

Also, if you are a police officer yourself, how recent must a crime have been committed before you regard it as irrelevant to any interaction with the offender.

I ask as it was 5 years ago I got the caution for a minor offence and I was stopped last week and they instantly suspected me of similar misbehaviour.

I'm not a bad person, I don't want to be regarded as a criminal for the rest of time.

Also (again) is there any process of appeal if the record remains indefinitely?
