Indesign CS5 & CS5.5, Moving a graphics frame or its content?
STOP!! This is not a helpful feature! How can I turn it off? I would use direct selection if I wanted to do this. I'm now accidentally moving content around in its frames all the time! (Yes I can deselect and then carefully grab each element but this feature has seriously slowed me down.)
To Li MIN s: no animation. Indesign, mostly layout projects. Flyers, business cards, etc. Say I have a logo I've dropped onto the page and I drag to move it to the place I want it. In CS4 my selection tool would grab the graphic so I can move it around on the page. CS5 has some annoying smart settings whereby it keeps switching me to the direct-select (which is how I would adjust the graphic within its own frame, or make changes to the frame itself). Supposedly this only happens if you grab a certain area in the middle of the graphic, but it must be a double-click function too--which means it constantly activates from single-click as well, whenever I click to drag. I just want to turn the feature off; for print layout work it's a nightmare.

I think your talking about the Content Grabber. Yup, I can't stand it either so I turned it off. To do this go to View>Extras>Hide Content Gabber. Also if you would like to hide the Live Corners, it right under the Content grabber in the same drop down menu.
Hope this helps!
