I was on a trusted website when MSE blocked it. The page display changed to the website's address and host, and only the option of "Go to my home page instead". I notified the host, but I want the host to be considered safe by MSE if that's even possible. I've never had MSE flag a page on one of my trusted sites before and I would recognize a redirect or a fake alert. (Only Mediafire caught me off guard once, years ago before I blacklisted them for allowing a background process that attempted to hack me. But they had questionable practices to begin with, and I have both my wits about me and additional security measures.) This site is a community forum that I've been using regularly for over a year, and while it would make a worthy target due to a high volume of gullible people visiting, I'd rather deal with the threat on my own than have MSE block the content completely. Having said that, I do like MSE for some reason so removing it is out of the question.

PDF import options while placing a file. I want to default crop to media. In the past this has been a sort of sticky option; whatever the crop mode has last been set to stays that way for drop from desktop and stays default for import options. Lately, in cs5.5 I'm having to change this setting off of crop to bounding box every time I import a PDF page. It is slowing me down considerably as I often bring multiple-page PDFs from customer-generated content into Indesign for custom print setup.

STOP!! This is not a helpful feature! How can I turn it off? I would use direct selection if I wanted to do this. I'm now accidentally moving content around in its frames all the time! (Yes I can deselect and then carefully grab each element but this feature has seriously slowed me down.)

Your favorite artists, albums, or tracks... in terms of really using the system. No genre limit, I will try everything I can get my hands on and vote after. It can drop to the floor at times or just be really interesting. The persistent bumbumbum of some tracks gets old fast but then there are tracks that don't even use the sub unless it's forced upon them. I really love the bass, obviously, just looking to make a good mix-tape for it, from various different music types if possible.

This is the primary drive out of one computer, I need to hook it up as slave on another so I can pull some data off before wiping it. Right now there is no jumper on, I'm assuming this is cable-select. I don't know which pins to jump for slave setting.

This is Western Digital Caviar SE 160G. Assume it sets the same as other WD drives.

My clock regularly sets itself, and I can mess up the time manually and it will automatically correct itself. But at this daylight savings time change, even with the DST switch turned on and the time zone switch correct, the clock is still an hour behind after almost 24 hours. What the heck. I've never had this problem with it before, I just get up in the morning and it has the right time already like my computers do.

My service is asymetrical, 256k up 768k down. I have a secured wireless network of 6 computers. Connecting #6 causes a brief loss of internet connection for the other computers (this then resolves itself after the initial spike). I would like to upgrade enough to eliminate this problem but i don't know how much is enough. I suspect I need to go to another provider that has 2M or 3M symetrical packages. The service I have can go to 1.5 or 2M down but I'm stuck with the lower up. Is there a chance that increasing only the downlink speed could actually solve my problem?

I have a mybook external harddrive that I send backups to daily, and also pull files from a shared archive folder on that drive. The same computer that hosts it, is used by several employees who handle customers' usb traveldrive type devices on a regular basis. The procedure for unlocking a traveldrive before removal, invariably includes the mybook in the list. for example they will see (from "unplug or eject hardware):

There's no indicator which one is the mybook, although it's always drive E because it's always plugged in, but I'd rather not have it in this list. It's already been stopped on accident once, and I have to keep it plugged into a front USB port to avoid a big hastle remounting it.

Just given a new computer at work with xp pro. I think the tech who hooked it up to set the network settings also turned off the autoplay popup that i am used to on my other xp machines. inserting removable media like an external harddrive or usb traveldrive, or inserting a cd, should cause a little popup that asks me what to do (ie: open a folder to view files). who knows how to turn this back on.

Every time the PS3 presumably detects my wireless network (ie: on powerup or after quit game or movie to revert back to menu) every computer on my network gets to lose connection for about 10 seconds. This includes the one that has a wired connection. After the PS3 gets its nails in, everybody is automatically reconnected and its all great... until somebody decides to switch games again. What the heck?

I've seen it recommended for ppl who can't get their wireless configuration to work otherwise.

But when i have my notebook in public, I see it blocking invasions from time to time. This doesn't happen at home behind my secured wireless network. Is the PS3 particularly vulnerable outside a secured network? I know ppl are using it to store pictures, music, video, etc, basically private information, not to mention saved game files they hold very dear.

Switching games on the PS3 has included using the PS button on my remote to "quit game" then loading the new game autostarts it. What about an old fashioned reset button to tap after I have taken a game out and put a new one in? The closest I can figure is powering off and back on (That's a waste so I've been using the controller to quit each game first instead.) Maybe this is a nooby question but I got mine as a display model from the game store so there's no manual to refer to. Is there a quick reset using the eject or power button a certain way?

I set up wireless on PS3 to my existing wireless network and so far I've downloaded/installed system update easily, and also an update for Rock Band.

The update for Guitar Hero 3, though, times out before it can get past 4%. "An error occurred... (80710723)" It always comes after unexpectedly it logs me out of PSN also. Thinking maybe it's a port thing, I set up a DMZ and use a static IP instead. Again all is well including internet browser, I can watch YouTube videos, etc, but if I load Guitar Hero 3 and try to install the update, same problem.

Any ideas?

according to the description, i can use any compatible guitar for rockstar. so, i have the one from guitar hero. can i use it for the guitar or bass? so far i haven't figured out a way, if i have them both hooked up one just wants to be the controller for the vocals no matter what number i assign it.

stated a different way, has anyone else been successful running guitar and bass locally on rockstar, and if so is there a way to use this guitar hero guitar for one of them?

i have rockstar guitar, drums, and mic, not just only the guitar hero guitar. its just i have 4 ppl here wanting to jam together and i have 4 instruments but not getting it to work.

do u have to be part of a union first? are there other rules? i work for a huge private corporation in which i and one other person run an entire operation grossing over 250k per year. we both make less than 24k, and fine with that but we've had an equipment order in for a year now (for a 2k computer to replace the one we've got that's slowing us down from 7 years ago) and we've had an order to add one staff in for almost six months. we are swamped and increasingly it is only me because the other is about to go on her pregnancy leave and is having complications. in the meantime, for a position that requires six months of training, i have less than three months left now to train one, while operating and managing what is necessarily a three-person operation, solo. and they purposely delayed authorization of the 3rd person (who is now increasingly going to have to be the 2nd person) since january. believe me i have tried reasoning. even from a business perspective they are blind.

My old celeron 800MHz computer only had 128MB of RAM. I bought a new matching 128MB card to put in slot 2, then suddenly it won't boot (long beeps instead). so i take out the 2nd card I just added, still won't boot. I take out the old one and put just the new one in, still won't boot. In fact the ONLY RAM config it will now accept is a 64MB card i grabbed out of another computer. Holy heck I wish I had never tried to double it!!!
