and your going to a rock concert. You have to choose between seeing Ozzy or Metallica. Who do you go see? Remember this is the late 80s when Metallica just came out and becoming big.

Metallica had already come out with their "best three" albums by 86 with "Kill Em All" "Ride the Lightning" & "Master of Puppets" so i would definitely pick Metallica

Well...I wasn't a teen during the late 80's, and by that time I had already grown tired of Metallica...as they were anything but new at that point, with their best materiel (4 albums) being released between 1983-88. Saw them live twice (84/86), which was enough, as by the late 80's I had lost all interest in them. Today I can only tolerate "Kill em All", and maybe parts of "Ride The Lightening" & "Master Of Puppets".
In 1989 I would choose Ozzy over Metallica any day. Even today my choice would be the same.

In 1988, at the age of 19, I saw Ozzy and Metallica. At the same show.
In 1986, at the age of 17, I saw Ozzy and Metallica. At the same show.
In the late 80's, if I had to choose, I would pick Metallica. If only for the Zakk factor. In '86 it was Jake E Lee and I would have a tougher time choosing because of the Cliff Burton factor.
gun to my head, Metallica

Ozzy - Ozzy did some of his best work in the 80's. Metallica didn't really hit their stride until the early 90's.

I was in my mid-teens in the late 80s, and given those choices I would say Metallica.

I would have thought Metallica were a "new" and sort of amateur band, and it wouldn't be a very good concert. I would choose Ozzy.
