I have a list of most annoying, over used "boat" questions, feel free to add more!?

Any question about the Titanic - they never end.

Any question about how to mecome a merchant mariner, or how to work on a boat.

Any question about how to build your own ship.

Questions about how long it will take to cross the Atlantic Ocean on a boat, or can I sail my boat to the Bahamas - If you're asking this, you better not try it.

Physics Homework questions - like how does a boat float, etc?

Please add more....

How much is my boat worth?

Why won't my motor start? [with no description of the motor]

How much would it cost to build a fully functional replica of a pirate ship like the Black Pearl?

How do I register my boat? [without identifying the jurisdiction]

"Can I sail around the world in a (enter name of boat here)?"

"What age do you have to be to get your boat license?" Maybe I'm stupid but I'm not going to research all 50 states and see if any have a "license" to drive a boat vs passing the boating ed course now required.

"How long would it take me to get from (enter point A) to (enter point B)?" Without any additional info.

And I agree...don't answer the questions that are always asked for it's not worth the time. Naming a boat though to me is fine and askers should just be pointed to a web site for suggestions.

You guys all missed the obvious- "what should i name my boat?", and the ever present "How can a ship float if it's made of steel?".

Sadly, we all, at times, answer these questions, maybe just for the 2 lousy stinkin' points, or maybe because we feel sympathy for the truly stupid. I hereby swear that i will never answer another displacement, Titanic, or seasick question. I will continue to answer the boat name questions, and as always, the answer will be "BoB".

Excellent question and all great answers. Thumbs up to all! I too, have declined to answer any more of the old 'steel ships float' chestnut and (it goes without saying) Titanic Qs.

    ... Difference between a ship and a boat? ...

Just don't answer them! Then vote NBA. They are all available in the search bar anyway, for the genuine and half-capable inquirer.

Eric - yes! The 'cushions' Q was in a league of its own! On a par with these:

My all-time favorite troll 'attempt' goes to:

(I must admit, I emailed Yahoo! Answers about that one. Poster had about five zillion points and 97% 'BA'! They confirmed that they had warned the poster a number of times and then pulled the account.)

In addition to the your list and the one other, topping my list or the ones that think we are clairvoyants:

What boat is right for me?

How fast will my boat go?

    Will I get seasick?

Will my truck pull my boat?

    What year is my Bayliner?

How long will it take for XYZ company to ship my order?

The questions that amaze me are the ones that people ask that are right out of left field. This comes to mind, the difference of the rpm's from the earth to the moon, and the always popular how much fuel will my motor use.Sometimes I wonder if these people just sit around and think of stupid questions to ask.

What rpm will ____ hp go

    Do I need a license...

How can I captain a ship....

How about the guy named Bob that keeps asking ladies if they sit like this on a boat?
