Why is my life a game of chess for God?

At the moment, it seems like I have no control of what happens in my life. I have no free will to choose apart from what shoes I should wear today, whether I should drink Coke or Pepsi or play xbox or watch tv. I am always being isolated and ridiculed for no reason apart from what I look like and how smart I am. I have no friends, no job, no money and no purpose or hope in life. God can change my life like flicking a light switch but he chooses not to do it and will not do it because he said so. Where does free will come into this then? Going against his own children's wishes. Is that right? Or giving other people the right to control their lives?

My life has become a game of chess were every decision and consequence is predetermined, if God chooses to move a knight forward two spaces, my life moves in that direction regardless of my actions, my actions always being ethical and Christian like of course. Then God may make a mistake then the Devils gets my queen due to a bad move and then my life takes a turn for the worse. I have done nothing to warrant this behaviour. It seems like everyone else has a choice whether they become a lawyer or a doctor or whether they want to live with their parents or live alone. I don't have these choices because for some reason God has only one path for me and that's it tough. Other people have choices in life because people like them but people don't like me because I am above average looking and get judged on appearances.

I am very familiar with the Book of Job, so please don't mention it and the same thing happened to Joseph in Egypt.

Why is this happening?

Update:

I know it sounds a bit farfetched but I don't have a choice because I am put in a situation were I only have one choice. Almost like my life has it's own course that cannot be altered.

I haven't made many mistakes because I always have due consideration for others before I make decisions.

I may not have it as bad as others but this is relative to my own life and my pursuit of understanding and purpose within it.

Update 2:

@ Elizabeth: Having one choice, being in a room with one door or leaving a country because your situation has become life threatening (physically or mentally). This happening out of no fault of your own.

i can easily answer all your questions.

God controls everything, there is no such thing as free will.

God predestined all things that happen/don't happen before he made earth, and there is no free will.

God is God bcuz he is the only one who has free will.

God shows his characteristics through what he predestined; everything has a specific purpose and everything is interconnected to other things so that every cause and effect is warranted and validated- the future is based on the past bcuz the past was based on the future.

(that means God knew what he wanted so he planned what it takes to get there and unless you know the end first, the beginning and middle make no sense, but if you know the end, it is absolutely amazing how critically necessary every detail of the past and present to be exactly that way at precisely that time with no margin of error from start to finish).

One purpose of problems is to allow foolish people to see what happens when they do 'get their way' and what its like when others 'get their way', so they can be able to experience how bad it is and how much they really don't know everything and can't control anything so they should submit their will and ideas to God & instead receive his instruction since he actually does know all & control all.

Another purpose of problems is to allow people to see how God's actions show his ability to control all, which is another way of saying "hello! if you follow me you will be perfectly safe and taken care of; i control everything! no one else controls anything!" Not just bcuz he knows before it happens but bcuz he can so powerfully just instantly change everything so quick and flawlessly and completely it can almost seem scary.

Another purpose of problems is to show God's judgment, mercy, justice, love, forgiveness, punishment, and many other attributes. God reveals his personality to individuals at certain times, though they are always on display

(this is similar, at least in human terms, to a rare master painting where the obvious is not understood until it is explained, then it becomes beautiful and simply obvious elegance. With these, the ignorant and rash and foolish quickly conclude within themselves "this mess isn't art its terrible", but the wise ask the artist himself about it and the artist begins showing them the hidden spectacular skills and details and connections and pictures within pictures upon pictures which show the highest caliber of mastering many difficult art techniques and amazing control of presentation, and thus they like it, once they have been taught what's what directly from the creator's comments himself.)

God has set up something larger that what your eyes can see, literally, the layers of complexity amassed by small things that most thought were the whole picture or even the canvas on which the art was made end up being as mere brushstrokes when God takes a person back and shows them how he sees - and how can a man see as God except God show the man ? this is why the point of the bible is God saying, basically, he wants to show people, but they will have to submit to him because he refuses to force them against their will.

(that means God will teach, and train, and change the feelings and opinions of those he chooses to work with, and if you feel this could be you its bcuz it is, so start asking your Creator to be your Father).

there is nothing a man can do to actually benefit God, since God has all and is complete in all and also controls all? so then what is the purpose of man?

God takes pleasure in showing man his purpose, and expressing himself and his love to them.

in order to start this process and have God himself to you and explain Christ to you and explain you to you and explain your life and this world you live in to you, i suggest you open a king james version bible and ask its holy author Himself directly to forgive all sins you have ever had and have mercy on your ignorance for you are human and not as God and then ask him to teach you truth.

seriously, be direct, be specific, be truthful, be persistent, be sincere and be willing to receive without effort from yourself to answer you but expect God to be capable of answering for himself without you assuming and presuming your own answers but let him do him, you just watch and learn, wait and see, read and listen and think, God will do what he promised, and no on can stop him.

"God can change my life like flicking a light switch but he chooses not to do it and will not do it because he said so."

absolutely not... we are free to make our own choices, we are responsible for the choices we make, and we are not protected from the consequences of the poor choices we make.

Now as for you... i suggest finding something better to do than to think about yourself... your focusing way to much on how bad you got it (even daring to compare yourself to Job who lost 10 children, all his wealth, and a wife who turned on him)

You need to start doing things for other people, even if its volunteering at a hospital or something. Prov. 18:1 - the one isolating himself seeks his own selfish longing.

You don't have it bad at all.

No such thing as only having one choice.

Even in a room with one door, you have the choice to stay in the room or leave. No such thing as having only one choice.

I think you think too highly of yourself. The Bible says our life is like a vapor in the wind, here today, gone tomorrow.

So to say it is like chess......I don't think it is that complicated.
