Debate: is pasta healthy?

Personally I think that pasta is a source of essential starches that keep blood sugar levels low and energy high. And when eaten without cheese, cream, or high fat sauces, it is perfectly healthy.

Although I wouldn't eat it more than once a day, or everyday.

I enjoy fresh pasta the most (tortellini and gnocchi) although I love rigatoni or cannelloni too. My parents refuse to buy wholewheat, but I have no objection to white pasta once or twice a week.

It really depends what kind of activity you do after it. Pasta is God for those who run long distances regularly.
