Calorie counting help?
I have been counting the calories I eat for a long time - most of this period being when I was losing weight. However, I have recently wondered: if the amount of exercise I do varies per day, should I:
- eat the amount I have burned on that particular day
OR
- average the amount I burn each day, eat the same amount each day, therefore having either calories left over (on more active days) or eating more food (on less active days) than required.
Please help?
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness9 years agoHow to wear bracelets?
I have been sporting the same mismatch style for my bracelets for a while and I am sick of it, I want to arrange them in a minimalistic but unique way.
My style is boho/beach casual, so I have a lot of beaded, wooden and braided bracelets.
Any tips or suggestions?
2 AnswersFashion & Accessories9 years agoHow can I wear my bracelets?
I have a large collection of homemade and souvenir bracelets that I love to wear sporting the mismatch style. However, I was wondering whether there was a way to wear or co-ordinate a variety of bracelet styles by wearing fewer on my arm, as too many can irritate me.
FYI - I have a very beach/boho/casual look, so many of my bracelets are either stretch beaded, wooden or braided.
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories9 years agoHow do you maintain weight?
I finished dieting a few months ago, and I have only just found (after experimenting) how I maintain my weight.
3 meals a day (between 4-500 calories) and 2 snacks a day: 2 small, and one dessert.
My dessert ALWAYS consists of yoghurt and berries and a square of dark chocolate, and a small treat (usually saving chocolate for the weekends) to keep me happy (today I had three pink panthers :3)
I am moderately active every day and I do aerobic exercise 3-5 times a week in addition. I am always moving and dancing around the house too :3
How do you guys keep slim?
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness9 years agoBest and worst breakfast pastries?
I know that all breakfast pastries aren't very healthy, but as I keep to an 80/20 healthy diet, I need to satisfy my sweet tooth in smaller portions.
At the weekend, I love a warm pain au chocolat, but I haven't had one for months because of the high sat fat content! I was wondering what pastries I could have that are the lowest in fat or sugar?
If not, I'll just have my bran flakes or porridge and fruit with a chocolate pastry :3
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness9 years agoDebate: is pasta healthy?
Personally I think that pasta is a source of essential starches that keep blood sugar levels low and energy high. And when eaten without cheese, cream, or high fat sauces, it is perfectly healthy.
Although I wouldn't eat it more than once a day, or everyday.
I enjoy fresh pasta the most (tortellini and gnocchi) although I love rigatoni or cannelloni too. My parents refuse to buy wholewheat, but I have no objection to white pasta once or twice a week.
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness9 years agoHow many calories do I burn?
When I visit the websites that calculate your calorie expenditure, I am unsure what to enter.
Each type of lifestyle is indicated by how much exercise you perform in a week, for example, moderately active equates to exercise 3-5 days a week.
I always perform between 30 - 60 minutes of moderate/brisk walking per day - would this be considered a form of exercise?
In addition I perform aerobic activities (running and aerobic classes) 3 times weekly, averaging at 45 minutes per session.
Can anyone help me to understand my activity level?
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness9 years agoAm I moderately active?
Every day, I usually walk between 2 to 3 miles at a moderate pace.
At home, half of my time is spent on my feet.
During the day I am out at school or doing light activities most days of the week.
I also do aerobic activity 2-3 times a week (running, aerobics or zumba) for 30 mins to an hour at a time.
I think I am moderately active, as many websites suggest my walking alone is considered moderately active. However, since finishing a diet a few months ago I have been sticking to a lightly active diet and I think I have been losing weight slightly, as clothes are looser and my body looks thinner. I feel great but I want to stop now, but I am afraid I will gain weight if I increase the amount I eat by 200 calories.
Should I change the amount I eat, or keep it the same?

1 AnswerDiet & Fitness9 years agoWhat do girl's muscular or toned thighs look like?
I know that my outer legs are toned, and my calves expand when I bring my knees to my chest, but I can't pinch any fat, because I know that means muscle.
But for my thighs, I'm not sure. I read an article that said if you can pinch a lot of fat around your thigh when you flex it, that means you are less muscular, but I can only pinch 1cm at the largest part.
Also, my legs do touch when my ankles are together, but only at the largest part of my leg, and at my knees, the rest is a significant gap.
Do muscular thighs touch? and what other features suggest they are toned?

1 AnswerDiet & Fitness9 years agoHow can I stop obsessing over healthy eating?
I was on a diet for about a year and a half, and after monitoring my health with a close eye for that long, I am even more controlling about my diet now than I was when I was losing weight, and until a couple of weeks ago, I was visibly losing weight because of it.
I know what foods are good for me and calorie content in most foods, but I keep altering and researching my diet, trying to achieve a perfect meal plan.
How can I find a simple way to eat healthily without deep thought before each meal, and begin to enjoy other aspects of life more with my worries aside?
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness9 years agoWhat is your health motto?
A lot of people follow particular rules or preachings within their day-to-day life.
So what is your's? Mine is 'everything must be of value' - so my food must either contain some or a lot of goodness, or allow me to indulge (in small portions!) my absolute favourite things.
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness9 years agoDo I have an active lifestyle?
During the week - 1 session of Zumba
1 session of aerobics (1/2hr high impact, 1/2 low impact)
+ walking an hour a day every weekday
Weekend - active for half of each day (power walking, chores, chores, sports photography, gigs/parties etc.)
1 session jogging for 1/2 hour - 10 min per mile.
I think I have an active lifestyle, as between these activities I have mentioned I am regularly on my feet and occupied.

1 AnswerDiet & Fitness9 years agoTrousers for muscular legs?
My legs are very musclely, from running and dancing, so I am wondering how I can flatter them with clothes. Any ideas?
FYI I am a ruler shape.
2 AnswersFashion & Accessories9 years agoWhat body type do I have?
I'm a mixture of bony and muscular - so I am not very flabby.
My measurements are 30 - 25 - 32
I was wondering - am I straight enough to be classed as a rectangle?
I feel very straight, and to me that is no problem, but it can give me a good idea on how to dress.
2 AnswersWomen's Health9 years agoI can't eat that much!?
I calculated my BMR and it tells me I need to be eating over 2000 calories a day. I eat around 1500-1600 now and I'm not sure, on weekdays especially, how to eat more.
I eat 3 meals a day with a healthy dessert (yoghurt and fruit) and 2 small snacks.
Any tips?
