good honours projects for a potential surgeon?
I'm finishing up my undergrad degree in genetics and molecular biology and am looking at research projects for next year, should I not get into medicine.
my long term goal is to become a general surgeon and from what I can find on the Royal College of Surgeons web site they like students to have a back ground in research.
I've done 2 research projects already and found out that I can find interest in most areas of science. Can anyone recommend an area of study or the types of techniques that would best assist me in gaining a place in a surgical program?

Sorry, but if you wish to become a surgeon you must first complete an undergraduate degree in medicine. There really is no alternative. That said, you will find the research background to be very helpful in your studies, and it may shape your interests in a particular surgical career. Good luck.
