    (4a - 3)^2

    (4a -3)(4a-3)

    use FOIL to multiply

    4a X 4a + 4a X -3 + -3 X 4a + -3 X -3

    16a^2 +(-12a) +(-12a) + 9

    16a^2 -24a +9

    first ingredient you go with to do is get each and all of the same old numbers on one area, and each and all of the variable-containing words on the different: 3a + a million/2 = 4a + 3 : Subtract 3 from the two area. 3a + a million/2 - 3 = 4a 3a + -5/2 = 4a Now, we subtract 3a from the two area: -5/2 = 4a - 3a -5/2 = a Ta daa!
