Can Messi still win Ballon D'Or?

He's the clear favourite, and he'll win it unless Cristiano steps-up in Euros ( which i don't think will happen, not even in a million years lol).

Cristiano would have had it in the back if he added champions league to his Liga crown this season because I don't think La Liga ( even though better than CDR or anything Messi will win this season ) will make much of a difference in this race.... Messi will win it because of the superb individual season he has had, It will be very hard for the voters to ignore 70+ goals in a single season which is something that has never happened before in the history of football.

Yes, he has more goals that Ronaldo. One goal in the El Clasico doesn't mean he "upped his game" good performances by both of 'em throughout season though but Messi still remains the favorite for the Ballon D'Or

It depends. We have to see about the first half of the 2012-13 season. It is too close. Messi has broken records this season and Ronaldo has finally broken his jinx of not performing in big matches in the last two clasicos. The race is close. It is up to the experts and voters to break things down and analyze. I am afraid things will be decided based upon the performances during the second half of the year when the season resumes. The only way for Ronaldo to get an advantage would be if he can be the main catalyst/scorer for portugal and be in the top 4 in the euro 2012. However, that is highly unlikely in my opinion.

As of now, Messi would win. He's broken Muller's goal record and is in the lead for pichichi and nearly for assists. He's had his best year of his career.

Messi has broken his individual records.Ronaldo has given more to the team during important games.The balon d'or goes to the player that besides having a great individual season held the team win something important.The canches are equal but as usual everyone will favor messi.
