The Avengers Overrated?

its not overrated its good , but not a masterpiece

Most movies today are hype, and I think that even some of the best movies I've seen over the last 10 years have been overrated. Movies like Pirates Of The Caribbean and The Dark Knight were pretty decent, but in no way did they stand out in my mind as some of the best in their genre. I actually was a huge comic book fan as a kid so I enjoy checking out all these superhero movies, but most of them are just ok. Iron Man had 2 good movies, better than I expected anyway. Captain American and Thor were about as good as anybody could do with those characters, and the Hulk films were about the same. Now everyone is freaking out over The Avengers, which I'm sure will be fun but I'm not expecting it to be anywhere as good as X-Men 2, X-Men: First Class or either of the first couple Spider-Man films. The Avengers is getting good reviews from test-screenings and I'm sure it'll make a ton of money, and while I'm sure it will be pretty decent I have no doubt that it will be overrated. I think the standards for what is considered good entertainment have really gone down during the last decade. Honestly, of all the comic films coming out this summer, The Amazing Spider-Man looks the most promising in my opinion.

Go see it. it's one of the best action movies out there. it is long 2 hours 20 mins long. The first hour is used to build the plot and the story and the other hour and 20 mins are pure action and awesomeness. It is definitely not overratedd. It is great.

What reviews are you seeing? All the reviews i have read have done nothing but talk about how horrible it was.

save your money. I saw it 2 weeks ago and its complete garbage. It could be because I am a fan of DC and i think Marvel sucks though. Because i have not liked a single movie that Marvel has done.

Way overrated. Just mindless cheesy action. Stupid movie.
