Helix piercing swollen?
Hi I got my helix pierced on the 24 march so about 6 weeks ago and its been healing fine ever since but its now become swollen and red and a little painful to touch. Is there a reason for this an should I do anything to it?
Might I add I did get it pierced with a gun (big mistake I know!!)
Thanks :)

I have got the same problem I had my rook pierced at the start of January and about 4 weeks ago it became red and painful.
They said for me to leave it alone and dont get it wet, at it has got alot better, but im having to get the bar changed to a PTFE bar.
So if you left it alone for a week and keep it dry, them if that doesn't work go back to where you had it done or better still go to a tattoo shop, and see if they can help you.
Hope it feels better soon.

do saline soaks 2-3 times a day (safepiercing.org).
cartilage takes 6-9 months or more to heal, so you have a ways to go

hope that helped. :)

clean it more often. about three times a day, and always make sure to wash your hands before doing so
