How do you feel about the Roger Clemens trial?

I don't really like the guy, he is too arrogant but I don't think congress should have been involved in the first place. Besides, lying to congress carries more jail time that drug dealing.

Update:

I understand Jig but I don't see this as crimes against the people.

I've been wondering since the whole thing started why Congress got involved, instead of MLB dealing with it themselves, doesn't Congress have more important things to deal with?

Of course lying to Congress (or a judge) is a major issue. You don't want people lying to the those who are tasked with investigating crimes against the people.

That being said, because it was such a BS issue that congress had no reason to investigate... Clemens should have simply said nothing. Clemens was not compelled to testify, or answer any specific question. He could have blown the whole thing off.

The moral of the story is "Either don't testify, or don't lie."
