Need a new camera and have NO idea what to get?
My camera has died and it would cost more than it's now worth to fix it (a Kodak DX6490)
So I need a new camera (and Don't have hundreds to spend)
What I need is:
Something with a reasonable shutter lag- the one problem with my last camera was that when taking candid pic's the whole scene was different by the time it took a picture (even on the action setting) and when photographing children, which is what I primarily do, by the time I have all kids pointed in the same direction it would be nice to just Take the picture instead of pushing the button and Hoping that they don't move (or blink) before the pictures actually taken.
I need a good picture quality, both for 5x7 prints as well as larger pictures
Would like a reasonably good zoom function
A photo burst function would be great too, but I know that's usually on the more expensive cameras
I know that's a lot to ask for a cheap camera, but hoping.
I'm hoping to spend under $150
And I have a Film camera, but if you haven't noticed, it's Really hard to find somewhere that still develops film, and then it's Way more expensive than digital prints- and harder to edit

Would help if you told us exactly how much you're willing to spend but since you said you didn't have hundreds then I'm going to assume you're looking for cameras probably around $100-$175. Here are the ones I'd recommend in order from best choice to still a good choice but not as good as the others.
Just a heads up. Don't be afraid to buy refurbished items because they are new and still come with a warranty.
1. Sony Cybershot HX7v($159) - http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004H8FNDA/...
2. Sony Cybershot WX10($175) - http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004H8FNJ4/...
3. Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS($170) - http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004J41T7Q/...
4. Nikon CoolPix S8100($110) - http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00427ZLS8/...
I recommend the Sony's first because in my opinion Sony is leading when it comes to the point and shoot industry. They just have so many features packed into them it's ridiculous. And just to assure you that you should get the HX7v, I own it and use it greatly. It really is the best choice among these 4 cameras.
You'll really see an extreme improvement over any Kodak camera if you get the Sony. The pictures are extremely high resolution. I have printed 8.5x11 pictures taken with this camera and it's crystal clear(depending on your printer). If you want to know more about anything just send me an email. Glad to help!
