Since there are so many different religions...?
With the many religions to choose from, isn't it obvious to people that humans have no idea what god wants? If there is a god that is. And if so, how can you possibly say you know what god wants. Religion = ignorance

The number of religions have nothing to do with God or the worshiping of him.
Matthew 7:13,14
13 “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.
There is definitely a God. Never doubt that. He gave us free will because he wants us to serve him willingly out of love for him.
1 Corinthians 4:3,4
3 If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, 4 among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.
That's the reason for all of the different religions/confusion/ignorance. It's by design.

a person does not need to be part of any particular religion in order to study and know the word of God. it is in the word of God where God reveals to us all that he wants us to know about him and about how to know him personally and how to serve him.
the problem is that people tend to be lazy and want someone else to read and study the word of God and to tell them what they should think, know, or believe about it. that is not what God intended. he wants each person to read and study it and to know it for themselves then to share what they know with others so that we can all help one another to better understanding.
the bible is not like other books. it is a spiritual book and cannot be understood by just using the natural understanding of man. we must also have the understanding of the Holy Spirit of God illuminate the meaning of the words written in the bible to us to have full understanding.
sitting in a church pew and having someone else tell you what to believe is not a good way to get to know God or what he wants. that is something we should be doing as a suppliment of our own personal study, not just of the bible but of other historical accounts and facts and other belief systems as well, so that we can know the truth for ourselves.

Most religions have followed the Bible to create their religion in a way that it strays them from the actual path. Other than those religions, there are people who just have their own ideas and create religions from those.
