Will iTunes slow down my laptop?

I have a windows 7 laptop with 6GB of RAM and around 400GB of free disk space.

It is extremely fast so I have the fear that if I download iTunes it's going to slow down my pc, I hear it hoards all your resources. What do you think?

    Itunes is a bitchy program it slows down my computer and i have an i7 processor and 8 gigs of ram.

    As stated, it will slightly slow down your computer while running.
