When you are ordering words in alphabetical order...?
what comes first rip or ripe. The one that has a letter, or the one that doesn't?
I know you order them and if they have the same letter, you look at the second, and so on, but how do you do the previous example?
2 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education8 years agoWhat colors will go great with yellow walls?
I'm currently in the process of redecorating my bedroom, and decided to go with Glidden Buttercup as my shade of yellow. But I need some ideas what colors would go great with it, I'm thinking new comforter, throw pillows, etc.
This is what I wanted for my 18th birthday. I'm phasing over from super lime green walls, that haven't been changed since I was a preteen, so I'm looking for something a little more conservative, but still fun. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
1 AnswerDecorating & Remodeling8 years agoHow would you describe the generation we live in today?
How will people from the future describe America today?
I say the government is politically divided in two extremes that cannot find a compromise-- which is ultimately reflected in its people. People seem to be offended by EVERYTHING, there's always something on the news that a certain company had to pull a product/ad/etc because someone was offended. Let me not start on the education field, haha.
What is your take?

2 AnswersPhilosophy8 years agoBest advanced point-and-shoot cameras under $200?
Right now I own a fully automatic Sony Cybershot 12.1 MP and looking to upgrade.
I'm looking for a easily portable point and shoot that has semi-manual features (aperture priority, time priority, adjust ISO). Nothing too fancy, something under $200.
All suggestions are welcome! Thanks.

My mom never really taught me how to cook, I'm 17 and don't know how to manage a kitchen, but would love to learn. I'm an absolute beginner!

Any other suggestions are welcome!

If the symbol is not flipped you will end up with a false statement, but why is that so? I need a concrete, mathematical reason. Can you help?
3 AnswersMathematics8 years agoHow do you solve this inequality?

Can you show me the steps? I'm confused.

Martha was leaning out of the window on the second floor of her house. Her glasses slip from her nose and hit the ground in 2.2 seconds. Neglecting air resistance.
1. What is the height of the window from the ground?
2. What is the impact velocity of the glasses?
In class we use 1/2 at^2 =d , not sure if this pertains to this. And we use 9.8 m/s^2
1 AnswerPhysics9 years agoI'm going to community college...?
I don't consider myself an unintelligent person for going to community college, but my peers seem to think otherwise.
I have a 3.8 unweighted GPA, 1680 on SAT (all 3 sections) and I'm planning on attending the Honors Institute that my local college offers, mainly due to cost.
Is this a bad idea? Is it easy to make new friends? If I get my A.A., can I transfer to a 4 year university (within my state) and have all my credits transfer?
5 AnswersHigher Education (University +)9 years agoDon't know what career path to pursue.?
I'm a very average student, I don't exceed at anything in particular. Don't consider myself smart, but very dedicated and hardworking. I have a 3.5 GPA, mainly taking regular and honors courses, and scored a 1660 on the SAT - math-490, cr-570, writing-600. Planning on going to community college, but have no idea what to major in, the economy is so bad, I see people struggling everyday to get by.
I know the medical field is the best, but I tremble at the thought. I'm mainly good at the administrative sight of things- paperwork is my thing- who can say that? I have social anxiety, not very good at public speaking or leading a group.
I'm freaking out, it's my senior year in high school, and I have no plans.
5 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment9 years agoWhat is this office equipment called?
I'm trying to find out the name of an office equipment that straightens stacks of paper by jiggling it/ or vibrations. I've seen older versions of it (but don't know the name).
You put stacks of copy paper, turn it on, it vibrates, and it's like it's brand new.
Maybe it doesn't exist anymore, or can't quite explain it.
2 AnswersOther - Electronics9 years agoBest drugstore facial wash?
Hey! I'm in need of a new facial wash (something I can get at the drugstore).
Looking for something that is oil-free and removes makeup. Something I can use in the morning before applying my makeup.
I have acne, so I use salysilic acid at night -since it makes my skin sensitive to the sun if I use it in the morning.I have combination skin- oily t-zone, and normal cheeks.
2 AnswersOther - Skin & Body9 years agoEntry level smartphones?
I'm in need of a new phone, was thinking about upgrading from a basic phone to a smartphone. Though I wish I could buy the iPhone, my budget is tight. I have a cheap GSM company (Simple Mobile) as my phone carrier, and want an entry level smartphone-from T-mobile preferably or unlocked for under $170.
I looked up HTC Wildfire S, but read too many complains about its low internal memory.
Any recommendations?
2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans9 years agoWill iTunes slow down my laptop?
I have a windows 7 laptop with 6GB of RAM and around 400GB of free disk space.

4 AnswersSoftware9 years agoCan someone explain US college system to me?
I'm not quite sure what the American college system is like.
I have some idea - you attend it for 2 yrs doing prerequisites then 2 more yrs pursuing your actual degree? What is the difference between undergrad and grad schools?
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)9 years agoBest laptop for my needs?
I'm in need of a laptop - under $600. I'm positive that I have no need for a netbook! :)
I'm a soon to be college student, who will most likely be writing tons of papers, and research - meaning I will probably have open multiple programs. I don't just want it for studying, but also for some fun things here and there - such as watching movies or playing a few games.
Do you have any recommendations? Oh, and what store should I get it at - I prefer in-store to online.
1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks9 years agoTeaching English to a Kindergartner?
I'm tutoring a kindergartner who doesn't speak a word of English. I speak her native tongue, but I'm having trouble deciding how or on what to start. Her attention span is not very long, since in fact it is tiresome sitting and learning.
1. Should I teach the ABC's first? She doesn't know the letters, not in English or her language.
What order to do them in? I heard it is wise not to do them in order. True?
Any advice?? Any websites for resources?
