Martha was leaning out of the window on the second floor of her house. Her glasses slip from her nose and hit the ground in 2.2 seconds. Neglecting air resistance.
1. What is the height of the window from the ground?
2. What is the impact velocity of the glasses?
In class we use 1/2 at^2 =d , not sure if this pertains to this. And we use 9.8 m/s^2

1) The equation you use in class will do ..
d = ut + ½at² is the full equation .. in this case initial velocity u = 0
d = 0 + ½ x 9.80 x (2.2)² .. .. ►d = 23.7 m
2) v² = u² + 2gd
v² = 0 + 2 x 9.80 x 23.7m .. v² = 464.5 ..
v = √464.50 .. .. ►v = 21.55 m/s
