Joining the military?
I am still not decided to which branch I want to be apart of whether NAVY or MARINES. However I did go to a NAVY recruiter and she informed me that I need to lose weight. I am about 20lbs overweight and I will lose that in no time, my thing is what is that I need to start working on besides running to prepare for the pt exam before bootcamp?

The Navy has embarrassing uniforms. Don't go there. Marines have very high standards. Work hard if you want to be accepted there. Army or Air Force is better. Air Force treats their people better. Army's physical fitness standards aren't quite as high as the Marine's standards, but they're higher than AF and Navy. It's easier to get into the Army than the Marines, and you don't have as many embarrassing uniforms to wear like the Navy does.
Running will burn your 20 extra pounds off. Push ups & sit ups are the other things you'll be expected to be good at, but don't stress out about it too much. I went into the Army with zero push-up capability, and I came out 4 years later doing 60 push-ups at a time.

I would highly suggest going to www.UltimateBasicTraining.com and looking at the resources there. At the very least, read the Guidebook
