(contacts): thoughts on THE AVENGERS or...?

saw it opening day. great great great, loved it. once I rewatch it I think it'll be high up among my favorites of all time

and to anyone that hasn't seen it yet, edit your thoughts after you see it. and if you don't plan on seeing it, change your mind!

BQ- happy birthday Georgey Clooney? top 5 from him?

BQ2- rank these actors from favorite to least favorite:

Samuel L. Jackson

Jeremy Renner

Mark Ruffalo

Robert Downey Jr.

Scarlett Johansson

Chris Hemsworth

Chris Evans

BQ3- where does The Avengers rank among the best superhero movies of all time?

BQ4- do you plan to see Dark Shadows or The Dictator in theaters?

BQ5- how often do you go to the theaters and see a movie? I decided I'm gonna go twice a month, no matter what. just for the hell of it. but this year it will probably be more than that

BQ6- might be a lot of work, but can you make a most anticipated films by month? I'll help

May: Moonrise Kingdom, The Avengers, Dark Shadows, The Dictator

June: To Rome with Love, Prometheus, Snow White and the Huntsman

July: Savages, The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spiderman

August: The Bourne Legacy, Lawless, Hope Springs, Red Hook Summer

September: Killing them Softly, Looper, Trouble with the Curve

October: Not Fade Away, The Master, Argo, Gangster Squad

November: The Silver Linings Playbook, Seven Psychopaths, Skyfall

December: Lincoln, Django Unchained, Hyde Park on Hudson, The Hobbit, Les Miserables, Zero Dark Thirty, The Great Gatsby

Update:

The one line ignorant answer gets four thumbs up, and my answers that I put real thought and effort into get four thumbs down. **** this site and everyone on it.

Lol December will be the month I'm broke :P

The Avengers was fantastic! Hulk definitely made the movie for me, but I found Mark Ruffalo really uncomfortable in his role or something? I can't really put my finger on it, I guess in my mind there will never be a better Hulk than Edward Norton. The movie overall is the best thing Marvel has put out so far but IMO not Joss Whedon's best. It wasn't really a surprise to my 16yr old self back when I watched Buffy for the first time that the man can practically create stories about heroism with wit and heart in his sleep. So after watching a ton of what he's done I still feel he can do better, it's nothing short of perfect though and probably the best thing to come after Spider-Man 2.

BA: Lol Madeline's "one favourite movie by Clooney" didn't cut it for you...

    1. Good Night, And Good Luck

    2. Michael Clayton

    3. The Ides of March

    4. Syriana

    5. Out of Sight

    BA2:

    Robert Downey Jr.

    Mark Ruffalo

    Jeremy Renner

    Scarlett Johnasson

    Chris Hemsworth

Samuel L. Jackson (I've never really like SLJ to be honest...)

    Chris Evans

BA3: Oh definitely top 5 or 10 in my all-time favourite superhero movies.

    BA4: Nope, nope.

BA5: Depends on a lot of things. My mood, if i've wanted to watch it for a while, how much I like the director/cast involved etc. Also, it really really boils down to if the movie really "deserves" that whole cinematic experience. I remember going for Dark Knight a year back and after the movie it got a standing ovation and the crowd was cheering, pretty incredible. I don't expect that with every movie but you know what I mean, I just want to come out thinking "man! that was great!" Like LOTR or The Hobbit it has that "epic feel" that you gotta be in the cinemas for. I feel it cheapens the experience if I waste my time and see a movie I could've just rented out.

    BA6:

    May: Moonrise Kingdom

June: Prometheus, Snow White and the Huntsman (the trailer looks really incredible), Brave

July: Dark Kniqht Rises, The Amazing Spider-Man, Ted

August: The Wettest County, Bourne Legacy

    September: Looper

October: The Master, Argo, Gangster Squad

    November: Skyfall,

December: Life of Pi, Lincoln, Diango Unchained, The Hobbit, World War Z, The Great Gatsby, Great Hope Springs, This Is Forty

(this has to be my most thorough "anticipated 2012" lists...)

I watched it today! and I absolutely loved it! I went into this movie with such high hopes, I've been looking so forward to it for a really long time now, and not one second of this film was disappointing! It was incredible! It was also super funny and the action was amazing. When I visit my sister this Thursday, I think I might watch it again!

    BQ:

    The Descendants

    O Brother, Where Art Thou?

    BQ2:

    Mark Ruffalo

    Jeremy Renner

    Chris Evans

    Scarlett Johansson

    Samuel L. Jackson

    Chris Hemsworth

    BQ3- #4!

BQ4- Dark Shadows, yes. The Dictator, eh, no. I'm just going to wait until that one comes out on DVD.

BQ5- The nearest theatre is two hours away from where I live, so like once a month. But I'll be going up there a lot this month so I might watch a couple more!

    BQ6:

    May- Moonrise Kingdom, Dark Shadows

June- To Rome with Love, Prometheus

July- The Dark Knight Rises, Savages, The Amazing Spiderman

    August- The Bourne Legacy

    September- Killing Them Softly

I loved the movie! One of the best of the year at least :)

    BQ1: Out of Time

    Ocean's 11

    Ocean's 13

    O Brother, Where Art Thou?

    Men Who Stare At Goats.

    BQ2: Robert Downey Jr.

    Samuel L. Jackson

    Mark Ruffalo

    Jeremy Renner

    Chris Evans

    Chris Hemsworth

    Scarlett Johansson

BQ3: It's the best superhero movie ever. :)

BQ4: Dark Shadows, yes. Dictator, no.

BQ5: I go whenever I want to. I saw The Avengers twice this week in both 2D and 3D :)

BQ6: May: The Avengers, Dark Shadows.

June: Brave, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

    July: Ted, The Amazing Spider-Man.

August: The Bourne Legacy, The Expendables 2.

    September: Dredd, Killing Them Softly.

    October: Frankenwenie, Taken 2.

    November: Red Dawn, Skyfall.

    December: The Hobbit, Django Unchained.

    :)

  • Yeah, it was extremely enjoyable and funny also. It wasn't a masterpiece but it's one of those movies that you have to see in cinemas. About rewatches- I hope it like Iron Man and Spiderman live up to multiple viewings.

    BQ: Happy birthday to him!

    Fantastic Mr Fox

    Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?

    Up In The Air

    Ocean's Eleven

    Spy Kids

haven't seen the Descendations or Burn After Reading

    BQ2:

    Robert Downey Jr.

    Samuel L. Jackson

    Jeremy Renner

    Mark Ruffalo

    Scarlett Johansson

    Chris Evans

    Chris Hemsworth

    But I like them all

BQ3: I think its the best Marvel movie ever. Probs after The Dark Knight

BQ4: Dark Shadows, f**k yeah. The Dictator, no way. I went to a preview screening of the film for audience reactions and pretty much everyone in the audience found it to be funny, however the film just makes jokes at easy targets and it seemed cheap.

BQ5: Once every couple of months. Want to go more often however, because 2012 looks to be a -great- year for movies. I might see Dark Shadows on Friday.

    BQ6:

    May: Moonrise Kingdom, Dark Shadows

June: Promethus. Mixed about Snow White

July: Savages, The Dark Knight Rises. Nothing is motivating me to see the amazing spiderman. Except if it gets good response here and critically

    August: Bourne Legacy.

    September: Killing Them Softly

    October: The Master, Gangster Squad

November: Seven Psychopaths, Skyfall (for Mendes and the cast, not a Bond fan)

December: The Hobbit, Lincoln, Django Unchained, The Great Gatsby

    BA:

    The Descendants

    Burn After Reading

    O Brother, Where Art Thou?

    Up in the Air

    Michael Clayton

    BA2:

    Samuel L. Jackson

    Robert Downey Jr.

    Mark Ruffalo

    Scarlett Johansson

    Chris Evans

    Jeremy Renner

    Chris Hemsworth

    BA3: N/A

BQ4: I definitely want to see Dark Shadows, I'm not sure about the Dictator yet. I prefer Sascha Baron Cohen's work he does in real situations like Borat and Bruno.
