Why is it so hard to win certain electronics on ebay?
I've bid on a few electronics-like an iphone or a computer-and somebody automatically outbids me a half an hour later, I don't use auto-bids because I don't have that kind of money. But it's very unfair. I don't think there are any other strategies besides having more money. Which I can't spend that much on one electronic.

most ebay buyers wait till the last few moments to bid.
I sold a ford mustang once that was only bid up to $500. The last 5 minutes it shot up to $4900!
If its a popular item. The buyers are there. They're just circling like sharks. Waiting for the last minute.
The best way to bid is decide the max you will pay and nothing more. In the last few minutes, place your max bid but don't confirm it. Open a second window on your computer to see how long the auction has left. At around 10 seconds hit confirm on your max bid.
This won't work all the time but it should increase your odds of winning items substantially.

ebay is not good because you try to save money and buy something cheap and not at retail price but then once you saved money you get the urge to buy more so you end up spending more than you would of in the first place.
