eBay will not allow me to edit my item description and will not post buyer's questions?
I have an item listed on eBay right now and several people have asked me the same question. When I respond, I check the box to post the question/answer to my listing, but when I scroll to the bottom of the listing it says that there are no questions about the item.
I tried revising my item description to answer this question, but I cannot click inside the description box. It is like it is locked or something.
I tried on 2 different computers and through my phone. I have bids on the item and I know I can update the listing once someone has bid because I have done it before.
Everything else seems to be working fine with eBay as I have been able to do everything else with no trouble, just cannot post answers to questions are edit the item description. Anyone else having this problem? I'm not sure if it is a problem with eBay or just my listing.
@love32: You're correct about the "Add to Description". This is how I've added to auctions with bids in the past - not the "Revise" option as I accidentally mentioned.
There is less than 12 hours for the auction so I cannot add any additional information. Unfortunately, all the questions about compatibility for this item came after there was less than 12 hours. I still don't understand why it will not post the questions/answers on the listing.

Once you have bids you can no longer edit the description itself using the Revise link. You can add to it using the link on the site map. It's under Sell and will say Add To Your Item Description.

When you answer to a question and check the box, your question & answer should be displayed on your listing. May be it will take some time. You said you have updated a listing in the past in spite of having bids. But so far I can recall from my experience, we cannot edit our listing including description once we get a bid. The solution to this problem is to use a feature called "Add to description". You can find this option around the original description while you are in the edit mode. Good Luck!

No you cannot change the description if you have bids on it or if it ends in less than 12 hours. You may Add to the description in a separate field.
