    Of course, just keep in mind there have been plenty of mistranslations and omitted books from the Bible over the ages. For example we find the Catholic justification for purgatory in the Book of Maccabees, which was taken out by the Protestants. Mistranslations are the worse. Even looking back on middle English, we find we can not know the true meanings of certain words. There were thousands of stories on Jesus in early Christian times, and only around 60 of the many thousands were chosen by an esoteric group of slave owning Eastern Roman aristocrats. I'm not saying this means your God is false, just the Bible isn't exactly immune to faults. Also, on a side note, even Saint Augustine (guy pretty much invented the Bible) mentioned the Bible cannot be taken literally (yes, evolution has NOTHING to do with God, you can still accept Jesus and accept evolution). Some biblical experts and theologians claim everyone is free to their own interpretation of the Bible, who knows. Just keep in mind you need to go elsewhere when looking at science and history.

    Yup... every one has hope in one form or another...

    And don't need a Bible to have it either...

    BTW, the afterlife is wishful thinking, nothing more...

    IMHO

    Yes, Jesus gives us hope and he will be with us who know him forever. He is the one who sets us free from the lies of the devil and all the bondages, and corruption, etc.

    John 8:31-36 (King James Version)

    31Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

    32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

    33They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

    34Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

    35And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

    36If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
