Why is my computer turning itself off a month after I installed a new power supply box?

At the beginning of April my power supply shut off after one hour of use. I then got a new one and the device stayed on until I turned it off. This week, the new supply shuts off when I access a high-bandwidth website for over an hour.

My computer is now 6 years old with 1 gig of RAM.

Is this a hardware problem or do I have a virus?

Update:

I wonder how it is overheating. The computer is in an open area on top of my desk. Maybe this overheating issue is from years of wear and tear.

sounds like an overheating issue...try re-installing the micro-processor and apply a thermal paste...and also clean the cpu fans and system fans if it's not working replace the fan..

    GOOD LUCK...
