Why was Rabbi Nuchem Rosenberg ostracized by his community?

    Old School Religious practices says that the Elders along with the Rabbi are first supposed to discuss the problem with the person in question. Then he is given scripture to consider. If after this he still goes forward with his bad behavior then they will ex-communicate the person. After that he will not be spoken to by anyone except an Elder or the Rabbi to reintroduce him or her into the Society.
